From The Dayton Daily News
"Sometimes, you notice that a performer is so relaxed and at ease with his audience and material that he's able to cleverly adapt his show to what's going on around him at just that moment. Such was the case last Wednesday when singer/guitarist Nick Mitchell acknowledged the weather outside the Dublin Pub, where he was playing, by slipping into a cover of 'Rain Song' by Led Zeppelin--which was entirely appropriate given the fact that a monsoon had just blown in, drenching bargoers as they struggled through the parking lot (we were happy to be inside). After a while it blew past, as monsoons eventually do, and so what came next? Why, 'Here Comes The Sun' by the Beatles, of course. Mitchell, by the way, has a fine, flexible voice and is a solid guitar player. He plays with the local band Skeptical Cats, about whom you can learn more at www.skepticalcats.com."

CD Releases and Reviews
Record Record 1997
Child's Play 2003
"Great band, these Skeptical Cats from Dayton, Ohio. They
write beautiful pop songs, perfect ones, catching even at first
listening...crazy musicians playing irresistible songs with any instrument that
falls into their hands."
-Filippo Perfido,
Gamma Pop, Italy
"Record Record is like a surreal variety
show, though the diversity and confluence of styles steer clear of being overly
hokey. Imagine Frank Zappa producing The White Album with They Might Be Giants
serving as executive producers and ...well, you're still nowhere close."
-Mike Breen,
CityBeat, Cincinnati
"One of Dayton's most original bands."
-Tony Peters,
WTUE 104.7, Dayton
"I like the musical diversity and the
willingness to take lots of chances. And the Cats are consummate musicians and
songwriters. Each tune is meticulously performed, with sharp production to boot.
And while there is a huge amount of crafting involved, the stuff still sounds
fresh."
-Jon Worley,
Aiding & Abetting Online,
St. Petersburg
"For those who want to experience a roller
coaster though many curves of music styles, they should climb on board and take
a ride with Skeptical Cats."
-Music Net
Magazine, Germany
"What Dayton popsters Skeptical Cats do that
makes me stick around is travel through various musical territories with a sense
of accomplishment overriding all of their songs."
